Outride ambassador Lael Wilcox has done it.
On September 11th, 2024 Wilcox arrived in Chicago completing her epic record breaking journey around the world in just 108 days on her Roubaix SL8. The ultra-endurance racer proved smoother is faster by beating the record of 124 days and 11 hours previously set by Scottish cyclist Jenny Graham in 2018.
Wilcox persevered through a variety of weather conditions spanning across countries which included Portugal, Georgia and New Zealand - supported by friends, family, and fans along the way.
The Specialized family congratulates Lael on such an epic feat to add to her growing list of accolades and for sharing her love of cycling all across the globe.
"Riding and moving is a huge part of my well-being. What started as a way to get around has become almost like breathin. It's where I feel the most clarify and the most alive and also the most normal. If I don't get to ride, I miss it enormously and feel really lucky that riding has become my focus. Without it, I am easily overwhelmed."
